Camelot Community Care’s Adoption Support Program provides resources, guidance and counseling to families following their adoption.
Once a forever family is formed, that bond is unbreakable. However, we understand that raising children who have experienced trauma can provide its own unique experiences and challenges.
Camelot provides resources, guidance and counseling to families following their adoption. Our goal is to provide a smooth transition as forever families are formed, and on an ongoing basis as they continue to work through the joys and challenges of parenting a child who has experienced trauma. Check-ins take place regularly throughout the first year and services are available until the child’s 18th birthday.
Our Adoption Support team links adoptive parents with those provider partners in our network who are able to best meet their needs. Service referral coordination include, but is not limited to:
- Adoption Competent Therapist
- Targeted Case Management
- Crisis Management Support
- Assistance Navigating Medicaid
- Notification of Community Events
- Request for Award Letter
There are post adoption support groups available to those interested in engaging with other families who have adopted from the foster care system.
